Savaya Coffee
This century-old adobe has lived many lives — horse stables, a Chinese market, home to Monica Flin of the El Charro family, and now a café rooted in legacy. We imagined a family in the coffee trade for generations, and designed each room as a chapter in their story.
The front café honors that lineage: a custom mercantile counter, 12-foot mesquite bar, and art deco arches reflect decades of global coffee relationships. The Work Room features a long antique table, vintage trade maps, and curated artifacts from Turkey, Guatemala, Kenya, and beyond — a nod to Savaya’s real sourcing roots. The Living Room is quiet and personal, with records, books, and a stitched family motto: “Taste Coffee for the First Time.”
The story isn’t spelled out, but you feel it. Something happened here. And somehow, the coffee tastes better because of it.
